Dr. Szewc is a highly skilled, practicing Nephrologist in San Antonio and its surrounding areas. He founded Kidney & Hypertension Specialists in 2002 and serves as the medical director for two affiliated Dialysis Centers. Dr. Szewc completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency at UMASS Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he served as chief resident. He then followed his passion and completed a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Szewc has extensive training and experience in the management of chronic kidney disease, hypertension and anemia. His knowledge of dialysis and End Stage Renal Disease is unsurpassed. He brings research experience in kidney disease treatment, with both Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis. Dr. Szewc was the first provider in the San Antonio area for home dialysis. He has publications dealing with Renal Stenting and Distal Embolization Protection; Plaque Extension Below the Knee for Limb Salvage in Patients with End Stage Renal Disease and Diabetes.
Dr. Szewc’s training includes Interventional Nephrology Procedures such as fistulagrams with percutaneous transluminal interventions.
